The Guilford County Board of Education is committed to the involvement of teachers in the decision-making process, and the Teacher Advisory Council (TAC) is a means of involving teachers. The purpose of the TAC is to serve as a liaison between teachers, schools, and central office administrators in order to identify, express, and resolve system-wide concerns.

The Superintendent or designee will meet with the TAC representatives on a regularly scheduled basis, and a calendar of meeting dates will be established. The meetings will be scheduled for the Board Room in the Eugene Street Administration Building.

Each school shall elect a teacher (as defined by the North Carolina General Statute ll5C-325) in August of each year. After the TAC election, submit the name of the TAC representative to the Associate Superintendent for Community Services. Questions that are to be addressed during the meetings should be submitted in writing to the Associate Superintendent for Community Services.
