Employee of the Month (September 2007)

Cindy KernodleGuilford County Schools Announces Employee of the Month

She says she’s “only office support,” but Cindy Kernodle is so much more. For the last two years, she has been the backbone of the District Relations department. She manages the front desk, which receives hundreds of calls a day, while assisting with event planning, crisis situations, media relations, publications and parental communication. In addition to being the “go to” person for any GCS-related question, Kernodle is a mother figure to her department, never forgetting a birthday or special occasion.

Whether she’s staying late, coming in early or fielding an unbelievable number of phone calls, she is thorough, detailed and gives every person her kind and sincere attention. For her overwhelming commitment to the district, kindness to those around her and selfless dedication to her work, Kernodle was selected as the September Employee of the Month.

As Employee of the Month, Kernodle received a $50 gift card from Sam’s Club, which has partnered with GCS to support the employee recognition program.
